Many will barely recognize the pair, given their more usual rejection of the formality of the Swiss watch industry.<\/p>\n

Like Silicon Valley CEOs, ironing shirts takes time out of their days that could be better used in the business of buying and selling watches.<\/p>\n

The Patek Philippe boutique opening is a sign that, despite their maverick reputations, Danny and Brian are hugely respectful of fine watchmaking.<\/p>\n

Danny is the third-generation owner of Govberg Jewelers in Philadelphia, and Brian the fourth. The retailer is more than 100 years old and an authorized dealer for the biggest brands in the world.<\/p>\n

The Patek Philippe boutique is more Brian\u2019s thing, according to Danny. It is run by a new business called Nineteen Sixteen Company, named after the year Govberg Jewelers was founded.<\/p>\n

It is one of only two standalone mono-brand boutiques in the United States run by partners. Gearys in Los Angeles has the other on Rodeo Drive.<\/p>\n

That is a major coup for the Govbergs, and a sign that Patek Philippe is comfortable partnering with a family that in WatchBox, their other business, has created one of the world\u2019s largest secondary market companies for collectible watches.<\/p>\n

Patek Philippe USA president Lisa Jones says she expects the Miami boutique to become an important destination for watch lovers for generations to come.<\/p>\n
