Basara was a term of respect for Samurai commanders who were infamous for their bold and lavish appearance.<\/p>\n<p>The watch&#8217;s bezel and bracelet are made of ultra-hard Cobarion and DAT55G alloys, and the bezel is cut and polished by artisan Komatsu Kazuhito.<\/p>\n<p>The mirror-surface facet cuts give the bezel an angular look that is very distinct from other MR-G\u00a0models.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-65526\" src=\"https:\/\/www.watchpro.com\/2021\/06\/sec01_img01.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"901\" height=\"918\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>The bezel and band also have a traditional \u201ckurogane-iro\u201d hue that is the result of a newly developed dark green DLC finish.<\/p>\n<p>The name refers to the deep shade of green that appears when iron is heated, with the color evoking the iron-clad helmets and armor of Basara samurai commanders.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-65527\" src=\"https:\/\/www.watchpro.com\/2021\/06\/sec03_img01.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"1400\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.watchpro.com\/2021\/06\/sec03_img01-731x1024.jpg 731w, https:\/\/www.watchpro.com\/2021\/06\/sec03_img01.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The dial has a\u00a0 chain mail woven pattern known as\u00a0 Kusari Katabiraand a folding fan pattern on the outer dial.<\/p>\n<p>The dial\u2019s green, red, gold and black colours are inspired by the Hana-Basara armor. The DAT55G case has a Brown AIP (arc ion plating) and an engraved plate to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the MR-G series.<\/p>\n<p>G-Shock is making the watch in a limited run of 400.
