{"id":56794,"date":"2020-12-04T09:59:51","date_gmt":"2020-12-04T09:59:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.watchpro.com\/?p=56794"},"modified":"2020-12-04T09:59:51","modified_gmt":"2020-12-04T09:59:51","slug":"new-york-film-maker-trails-keeper-of-time-documentary-about-the-world-of-mechanical-watchmaking","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.watchpro.com\/new-york-film-maker-trails-keeper-of-time-documentary-about-the-world-of-mechanical-watchmaking\/","title":{"rendered":"New York film maker trails Keeper of Time documentary about the world of mechanical watchmaking"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>New York-based production house Tourbillon Film Works has released its first trailer for <em>Keeper of Time<\/em>, a feature -length documentary that explores the world of mechanical watchmaking while contemplating the theoretical and philosophical notions of time, aging and mortality.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Produced and directed by Michael Culyba, the documentary is hoping for a film festival release early next year with a view to securing wider distribution.<\/p>\n<p>It was funded by a Kickstarter campaign that raised $115,000 in a month.<\/p>\n<p>Several of the world&#8217;s most respected independent watchmakers including Philippe Dufour, Roger W. Smith, Fran\u00e7ois-Paul Journe and Max B\u00fcsser contributed to the film, along with\u00a0scholars in the fields of theoretical physics, physiology and philosophy.<\/p>\n<h2>Keeper of Time trailer<\/h2>\n<p>https:\/\/vimeo.com\/482774022<\/p>\n<p>Other prominent figures featured in the film include Ben Clymer, executive chairman of Hodinkee, Michael Friedman, head of complications at Audemars Piguet, watch collector William Massena and Eric Ku, a famous vintage watch trader and collector.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Ku is also an executive producer for the documentary, along with\u00a0John Reardon, Christie\u2019s former international head of watches and founder of Collectability, an online platform for vintage and pre-owned Patek Philippe.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Several of the world&#8217;s most respected independent watchmakers including Philippe Dufour, Roger W.
