{"id":40972,"date":"2018-03-29T11:32:03","date_gmt":"2018-03-29T10:32:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.watchpro.com\/?p=40972"},"modified":"2018-03-29T11:32:03","modified_gmt":"2018-03-29T10:32:03","slug":"goldsmiths-branch-sees-demand-watches-grow-customer-catchment-area-widens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.watchpro.com\/goldsmiths-branch-sees-demand-watches-grow-customer-catchment-area-widens\/","title":{"rendered":"Goldsmiths branch sees demand for watches grow as customer catchment area widens"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Goldsmiths\u2019 main Oxford branch, which boasts specialist areas for the likes of Rolex, Omega, Breitling and IWC, claims it is now picking up customers from further afield thanks to the success of a new shopping complex in the city.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The jeweller has a prime location on the upper ground floor of the Westgate Centre, opposite a John Lewis, and has seen footfall grow following a \u00a31.4m investment in its state-of-the-art showroom.<\/p>\n<p>The investment included branded areas from Rolex, Omega, Breitling and IWC, as well as luxury jewellery from Mappin &amp; Webb and Jenny Packham, exclusive to Goldsmiths.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, nine jobs were created as a result of the new store with the recruits joining the Goldsmiths Oxford team headed up by showroom manager David Rodger-Sharp.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Rodger-Sharp said: \u201cPeople have more reasons to visit Oxford. What\u2019s really exciting is that we are seeing a new base of customers visiting from Milton Keynes, Bicester and even as far as London.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur new showroom has tripled in size and boasts the most fabulous shop front. The shimmer wall is the first thing that you see when you leave the carpark and it has a real wow factor for shoppers visiting the Westgate Centre. I would also say that introducing new brands such as IWC, Rado and Fope alongside our existing brand portfolio of Rolex, Breitling, Omega and TAG Heuer has really helped to boost business and attract new customers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Work on a transformed shopping centre began in early 2015, with doors finally opening to the public on October 24 2017 after a \u00a3440m facelift.<\/p>\n<p>Covering 800,000sqft, the new shopping centre brings together over 125 stores and restaurants, alongside a cinema and modern roof top terrace, which provides views of the city.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Goldsmiths\u2019 main Oxford branch, which boasts specialist areas for the likes of Rolex, Omega, Breitling and IWC, claims it is now picking up customers from further afield thanks to the success of a new shopping complex in the city.
