The race attracts a global audience, presenting an opportunity for high-profile exposure in new and existing markets.<\/p>\n<p>The last Vend\u00e9e Globe generated 700 hours of TV coverage, 285 million page views online and reached 2.3 billion households.<\/p>\n<p>The British watch brand has signed on as the team\u2019s official timing partner and will release a commemorative chronograph in time for Christmas.<\/p>\n<p>The limited-edition Vend\u00e9e Globe watch will fall under its Challenger series of sporty chronographs and will launch in December in time for Christmas orders.<\/p>\n<p>The 25,000-mile non-stop race around the globe will be attempted by Irish multi-millionaire entrepreneur and keen sailor Enda O\u2019Coineen, who will sail the entirety of the trip unassisted.<\/p>\n<p>He will be the first Irish person to ever attempt the Vend\u00e9e Globe and will take to the seas in a high-performance Imoca 60 monohaul yacht, which will bear official timing partner Kennett\u2019s branding on both its interior and exterior.<\/p>\n<p>O\u2019Coineen, who will use the race to raise funds for the Atlantic Youth Trust, said: \u201cIt is a lifetime ambition of mine to compete in the Vend\u00e9e Globe round-the-world race.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c4,000 people have climbed Everest, 500 people have been into space \u2013 less than 100 have completed the Vend\u00e9e Globe. It is the ultimate in ocean racing.
