{"id":30601,"date":"2016-07-26T11:37:14","date_gmt":"2016-07-26T10:37:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.watchpro.com\/?p=30601"},"modified":"2016-07-26T11:37:14","modified_gmt":"2016-07-26T10:37:14","slug":"luxury-swiss-watchmaker-looks-to-cash-in-on-pokemon-craze","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.watchpro.com\/luxury-swiss-watchmaker-looks-to-cash-in-on-pokemon-craze\/","title":{"rendered":"Luxury Swiss watchmaker looks to cash in on Pok\u00e9mon craze"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Luxury Swiss watchmakers might not be the obvious businesses to partner with Japanese gaming sensation Pok\u00e9mon, but that is precisely what RJ-Romain Jerome is doing later this year.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Details are still under wraps, but the watchmaker has teased the market with news that it has been planning a collaboration with The Pok\u00e9mon Company for several months, and will be collaborating on a limited edition launch of 20 timepieces this autumn that will incorporate \u201cPok\u00e9mon DNA\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The release comes as the Nintendo-created family of pocket-sized animated monsters celebrates its 20th anniversary, and will benefit from the explosive growth of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.watchpro.com\/why-the-watch-industry-should-be-very-afraid-of-pokemon\/\">Pok\u00e9mon Go<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, a smartphone-based augmented reality game.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-30602 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.watchpro.com\/2016\/07\/rj-romain-jerome-super-mario-bros-e1469528764577.jpg\" alt=\"rj-romain-jerome-super-mario-bros\" width=\"252\" height=\"329\" title=\"\">This isn\u2019t the first collaboration between RJ-Romain Jerome and a Nintendo computer game character.
