Earlier this year WatchPro unveiled its Watches of the Year 2013, made up of 10 winning timepieces and 90 highly commended watches that we felt boasted commercial appeal, innovation and had wowed consumers and retailers alike over the past 12 months.
Highly commended for the WatchPro Luxury Watch of the Year 2013 was the Cartier Tank MC.
In 2013 Cartier gave a well-loved classic a butch makeover. Well, in reality the gentlemen’s Cartier Tank MC retains the boundless elegance of previous popular Tank models but Cartier has described it as the “most masculine version” to date, thanks to the large dial with a wide breadth that creates the illusion of a square.
The Tank MC range has been infused with a modern dandy irreverence coupled with the sophistication, straight lines and natural curvature associated with the Tank family.
This self-winding watch features the first in-house movement produced by Cartier, the 1904 MC, visible through the sapphire caseback or, in the skeletonised models, through the front.
The skeleton models are definitely a talking point but the luxury leader for this year has to be this classic rose gold version.
