WatchPro recently announced its Watches of the Year 2012 – the 10 winning timepieces and 90 highly commended watches that we felt boasted commercial appeal, innovation and had wowed consumers and retailers alike over the past 12 months.
Now we are showcasing a watch a day that made the cut in 2012. We continue the range of highly commended watches in the Sports category with this oversized timepiece designed to take a few bashes on the wrist of a rugger ref.
Highly Commended Sports Watch of the Year – Graham Chronofighter Oversize Referee
Dubbed the ultimate chronograph, this sport-inspired timepiece was created especially for the referees at the RBS 6 Nations rubgy tournament, of which Graham is official timekeeper.
This oversized 47mm titanium watch is lightweight but also rugby-proof, meaning it can take a knock or two owing to its rubber-coated parts.
The sizeable white dial adds to its readability while its modified Valgrande movement means the Referee has a minute counter to show intervals of 40 minutes for the halves of a rugby match.
Graham has also utilised its left drive lever mechanism, which is unique to the brand, to allow for easy use of the chronograph during play. The final touch is the RBS 6 Nations logo, making this any rugger fan’s dream watch.
