Gucci presented the boldest collection of women’s watches of any major brand at Baselworld this year.
The key to the ladies’ G-Timeless collection is the way new silhouettes, motifs, techniques and colours are taken directly from Gucci catwalk fashion.
This is not a watered down version of the fashion house, it is couture for the wrist. Walking down London’s Oxford Street, the range stops you in your stride as you see it in the window of a jewellery and watch shop.
The family of watches, available in case sizes 29mm and 36mm, features mother of pearl dials adorned with Gucci’s new signature indexes featuring delicate bee, star and heart motifs. The cases are crafted in stainless steel or, in one instance, light yellow gold PVD. Straps are available in simple steel mesh or colourful lizard skin.
Prices range from around £700-1100.
G-Timeless Slim has also been worked in automatic variants, with dials featuring the signature indexes enhanced by a refined guillauché rosette for a softer, more delicate feel.
The transparent back of the 40mm case reveals the movement and an engraving of Gucci’s signature honeybee on the oscillating weight. Each model is finished with a mesh bracelet or calf leather strap in a choice of different hues.
