Winsor Bishop has reconfigured its Norwich showroom to make space for a new Rolex salon.

The refurbishment is designed to cement the store’s reputation as a destination jeweller for luxury Swiss watches for the whole of East Anglia.

It is the only authorised dealer for Rolex in Norwich, and is also an official stockist for several other Swiss watch brands including Patek Philippe, Tudor, Breitling, Omega and TAG Heuer.

Winsor Bishop sales topped £9.1 million in its most recently reported financial year, which ended March 2018.

The business had two stores during that financial year, but closed its Cambridge shop in January last year, stating that its performance was considerably below expectations.

Dominating Norwich for luxury watches and diamonds is paying off, with managing director Sophie Fulford telling WatchPro in December that the store was enjoying “an exceptional year of trading where our EBITDA grew by 51% over the previous year to £1.2m”. Sales were up around 7% in the 2018 calendar year, she added.

Winsor Bishop is marking its 185th anniversary this year with the Norwich store refurbishment, which sees the company’s own diamond jewellery collection sold alongside its watches.

A Diamond Lounge, situated on the first floor of the store, offers an intimate shopping environment for customers to browse their collections.

“As well as opening our newly renovated Rolex salon, we will continue to innovate in terms of shopping experience we provide to our customers. Along with the growth of our after-sales team and the Rolex accreditation for our in-house watchmaker’s workshop currently in development, we also wish to build on the success of recent in-store events such as the private Diamond Master Class held in our Diamond Lounge. The future is an exciting one for Winsor Bishop,” says Ms Fulford.
