To celebrate the All Blacks legacy and mark the Rugby World Cup 2019, Tudor presents the Black Bay Chrono Dark.

For this special version of Tudor’s popular hybrid chronograph, the familiar satin-brushed steel case and bracelet have been finished with a black PVD-treated coating, inspired by the famous jerseys worn by the All Blacks rugby team that the brand has been supporting since 2017.

The watch pays tribute to every player who has been selected for New Zealand’s national rugby team since its inception in 1884 – meaning 1,881 pieces to date.

The series will continue to grow over the years as new players join the team, meaning this watch is not a limited edition in the traditional sense.

This is denoted by the distinctive engraving on the case back indicating the special-edition serial number of each timepiece. Powered by the Manufacture Calibre MT5813 – a COSC-certified chronometer – it boasts a silicon balance spring and column wheel mechanism with vertical clutch.

Don’t worry if you’re not into the sport though, you don’t have to be a rugby fan to appreciate this chronograph’s stealthy appeal.

  1. Tudor has provided the watch many Daytona owners, including myself, that includes a date – yet is provided in all black. History aligned with New Zealand’s rugby team adds to the appeal, as well as, the semi limited availability + excellent price point..
