The British Horological Institute (BHI)has been training the next generation of watchmakers since 1858.
Thousands of people make, repair, conserve, restore, collect and sell clocks and watches, while millions more have an interest in the art and science of horology.
All of them would benefit from BHI membership and the range of courses the organisation runs.
Courses are tailored for everybody from professionals to enthusiasts and from beginners to masters.
BHI is worldwide membership organisation dedicated to training people in horology.
Members include experienced professionals developing their skills further, students who are training for qualifications and enthusiasts who enjoy it as a hobby.
BHI is offering places on two upcoming courses: Distance Learning Courses from £599 and Clock and Watch Short Courses from £99.
There are two distance learning courses: Technician Grade and Combined Intermediate and Final Grade (Clock or Watch Pathway).
Each course contains a series of self-contained lessons and practical exercises working towards passing sample examination papers and test pieces.
Taster Days are organised at Upton Hall the BHI’s headquarters near Newark, where people can discover how timepieces work.
One day courses include a presentation, demonstrations of different technical aspects of timepieces and hands-on practical experience of how they work, are maintained and cleaned.
The courses are run by professional tutors with a wealth of experience in the industry.
BHI runs one day events throughout the year at a cost of £99 including refreshments and lunch.
