WATCHPRO ORIGINALS: Montblanc Watches managing director looks to conquer fresh peaks

Davide Cerrato has brought a sense of adventure to Montblanc’s watchmaking division since joining in 2015. Then Covid-19 hit.

It has been six weeks since the Swiss watchmaking industry ground to a halt and Montblanc Watches remains closed and will not restart production until the end of May, the company’s managing director Davide Cerrato tells WatchPro.

Montblanc’s stablemates at Richemont are on a similar timetable, with only limited production for special projects, Mr Cerrato adds.

Since joining Montblanc from Tudor in 2015, Mr Cerrato has brought clarity and a sense of direction to a business that is now custodian of Minerva’s great watchmaking heritage.

  1. it’s about time they look at buyers and helped them, we are aviation comp[any charter jets. we like to stock there goods but hay It not just. hight street shops anymore its about time the pulled there heads out in the sands

  2. Montblanc has no long term “heritage” of it’s own in watches so must steal “Minevera’s.”. Why Montblanc doesn’t create their own history and instead issue Minerva’s historic models under their rightful brand name is perplexing!
