WATCHPRO ORIGINALS: In conversation with Bremont co-founder Giles English

In this Zoom interview, we discuss the impact of Covid-19 on the British watch business and the company’s plans to bounce back.

In a first of what we intend to make a series of video interviews called WatchPro Originals, WatchPro‘s Rob Corder is joined by Bremont co-founder Giles English.

In the course of the conversation, we discuss how Bremont has adjusted its ambitious plans for 2020, which included the opening of a new headquarters in Henley-On-Thames. The ribbon cutting on that project is now likely to be late this year or early next.

An inhouse original movement, also penciled in for 2020 now looks certain to be delayed until 2021, by which time Mr English still believes we will be feeling the economic effects of Covid-19 and the response from governments to the crisis.

Bremont has put in place measures to help its retail partners such as drop shipments for online orders, which mean they do not have to tie up cash buying stock, nor do they have to worry about the logistics of shipping orders.

In addition, we talk about Bremont’s offers to help front line NHS workers by raising money for Food4Heroes, which is distributing meals to staff at hospitals.
