WatchPro introduces two-strikes rule for HOT 100

WatchPro’s HOT 100 2015 is likely to include a very different role-call of leading lights within the watch industry as we implement a limit on consecutive inclusions.

It has always been an unwritten rule of WatchPro publisher ITP’s HOT 100 concept that no individual should appear in more than two consecutive annual publications.

With 2015 marking the third annual WatchPro Hot 100 a number of new faces from the UK and Ireland are likely to appear to the final publication.

The nomination process is currently open, allowing people to suggest peers, colleagues or themselves for the list of 100 of the most influential figures within the UK and Ireland watch industry based on their performance during the previous 12 months.

The final 100 will be selected on their merits by WatchPro editor James Buttery.

The WatchPro HOT 100 was launched in 2013 to celebrate the achievements of the brightest stars within the industry from designers and manufacturers to the people who market, distribute and sell the watches they make.

WatchPro will host a glittering party in July to celebrate the announcement of the final HOT 100 and the unveiling of WatchPro’s annual HOT 100 publication.

The magazine features interviews and stunning portrait photography of the HOT 100 themselves, shot by Kalory.co.uk.

The publication is divided into chapters covering Power Players, Premier Buyers, Retail Titans, Brand Champions and Trailblazers. The final list will remain a closely guarded secret until the big reveal.

How to enter

Entry is simple. A nomination by email to hot100@watchpro.com qualifies a person for inclusion on the shortlist and must include the person’s:

name(s)

company and position

a brief summary of the reason they are being nominated, which can include supporting information that will be treated in the strictest confidence.

There is no voting procedure and the final HOT 100 will be decided upon by WatchPro and HOT 100 editor, James Buttery, based upon the strength of the submissions.

Nominations will remain open until Tuesday 31 March.

James Buttery

Editor of WatchPro, the WatchPro Hot 100 and The Luxury Report.
