Watchfinder’s strategic step to certified repairs

Pre-owned watch retailer Watchfinder has signed the first set of deals in what could be a groundbreaking move for the company into certified repairs.

Watcfinder has just signed a deal with Swatch Group that will allow it to carry out certified repairs on all Longines and Omega watches.

The retailer has now launched a dedicated website at timeservices.co.uk for its repairs business and is advertising its status as a certified repairs centre for Omega and Longines on the site. It is now certified to carry out servicing, repairs, refurbishments and battery replacements for the two Swatch Group brands.

The long-term plan at Watchfinder is to build up relationships with watch brands to gain accredited repairs status and a spokesperson said that it is currently in talks with other brands to achieve this.

As well as Omega and Longines, timeservices.co.uk also offers repairs on watches from Rolex, Breitling, TAG Heuer, Rado, Christine Dior and Zenith, although it is not a certified repairs centre for any of these brands as yet. Watchfinder offers a 12 month guarantee on all work carried out.

Repairs are carried out by a team of watchmakers led by Richard Gentle, who has been working with Swiss watches for the past 10 years. The Watchfinder repairs team is based at the retailer’s new facility in Maidstone, Kent, which has recently opened.
