Watchfinder named Retail Hero 2014

Industry awards continue to flood Watchfinder’s way as the luxury pre-owned watch retailer is named Retail Hero at the Growing Business Awards 2014.

Watchfinder co-founder and managing director Stuart Hennell collected the honour on stage at The London Marriot Hotel, Grosvenor Square, last night.

The Retail Hero category was newly introduced this year and Watchfinder beat strong competition from businesses Graze, Bodice and Hotcha Ltd to win.

The awards were judged over the past twelve months with financial audits, growth strategy and personal interviews with the directors. Retail veteran and former chairman of Comet John Clare CBE, BSc led the interview process and praised Watchfinder on their foresight in capturing the then untapped market of pre-owned luxury twelve years ago.

Watchfinder, which employs more than 60 staff in Kent and London, has already been presented with honours at the Retail Jeweller Awards and the Digital Entrepreneur Awards in 2014.
Hennell said: “The award really recognises our business and every individual within it who has contributed to our £130+ million turnover to date. I am very proud of my team and company tonight.”

The awards were created by Real Business and were held in association with Lloyds Bank and supported by the CBI. More than 200 entrepreneurs gathered to celebrate the best in UK industry.
