Watches of Switzerland starts recruitment for its National Service Centre in Manchester

The Watches of Switzerland Group will open a new national state-of-the-art service centre in Manchester later this year.

It will be run by workshop services manager, John Burns, who has been with the company for 36 years and a watchmaker at Watches of Switzerland in Manchester since 1994. “I was 23 years of age when I joined the group and have progressed to a Level 50 Rolex Watchmaker, with a lot of my training being carried out at Rolex, in Geneva Switzerland,” he describes in an interview posted to the Watches of Switzerland LinkedIn page.

Mr Burns says that the new service centre will help the company build on the world class after sales service it offers to customers.

“The opening of the National Service Centre is such an exciting time for our group. The development will bring so much more to our after sales service and will enable us to grow and develop in a purpose built state-of-the art workshop, providing support and skill to our expanding business,” he says.

WoS is promoting the opening of its National Service Centre later this year because it is looking to build a larger qualified team. “Our long term aim is to create a base for further development of our watchmaking team, whilst meeting the needs of our expanding business. Watchmakers, Technicians and Polishers are all positions we are looking to fill, and we are also looking at apprenticeship possibilities,” according to Mr Burns.
