Watches of Switzerland opens in Canary Wharf

Watches of Switzerland has opened its latest luxury watch showroom in the heart of London’s financial district in Canary Wharf.

The new 976sq ft boutique at 22 Canada Place follows the ‘feel and finish’ of the luxury watch retailer’s flagship store at 155 Regent Street by using the same architects, Callison, and features in-store sales areas dedicated to Rolex and Breguet brands.

The boutique offers watches from Audemars Piguet, Baume & Mercier, Bell & Ross, Blancpain, Breguet, Bremont, Hublot, Parmigiani, Rolex and Zenith.

Interactive digital screens will also walk customers through the world of haute horlogerie and a onsite watchmaker will be available for consultation as well as battery and strap replacements.

Dermot Hay, manager of Watches of Switzerland Canary Wharf, said: “Canary Wharf is one of the most dynamic and exciting commercial and residential districts in the world. Watches of Switzerland is delighted to open our first boutique in the heart of this rapidly evolving community. We have brought together a magnificent range of Switzerland’s finest luxury watches for a discerning and knowledgeable clientele. The design of the boutique allows us great flexibility to introduce new concepts from luxury watch makers and to cater for the diverse needs of our customer base. The design, finish and materials used in the shop are the same as in our flagship store on Regent Street and emphasize the core values of our brand – innovation, luxury and exclusivity.”

Watches of Switzerland has been expanding, especially in London, since last year and will open a new location at Heathrow Terminal 5 later this month with stores opening on Oxford Street and in Birmingham in October. A new Knightsbridge store is also planned for next year. All of the new Watches of Switzerland stores will follow the model of 155 Regent Street to offer a seamless retail experience.

Brian Duffy, chief executive of Aurum Holdings, owners of Watches of Switzerland, said: “We are thrilled to bring Watches of Switzerland to Canary Wharf. The centre has developed really well. We have the perfect line up of luxury Swiss Watch Brands and a great team in place led by manager Dermot Hay. We look forward to a great opening and welcoming the folk of Canary Wharf to Watches of Switzerland.”
