FOPE has its first monobrand boutique in London thanks to a joint venture with The Watches of Switzerland Group.
The group has spent recent years increasing the share of its sales from luxury watches across its Watches of Switzerland, Goldsmiths and Mappin & Webb estate, so the JV with FOPE is a notable strategic move to invest in its jewellery business.
FOPE has been one of the most successful jewellery lines at Goldsmiths and Mappin & Webb, which have been focusing more on branded high end jewellery than volume brands that have shifted heavily into direct sales online or through their own stores.
FOPE’s London store on Old Bond Street, Mayfair, opened on November 22 and is showcasing the Italian jewellery brand’s fully diamond-set LadyFope cocktail watches, the only store in the UK to do so, although customers will be able to buy them through special orders at authorised FOPE retail partners.
They combine a Swiss-made quartz movement in an 18ct gold case set with diamonds on the dial, bezel and within roundels across their flexible gold bracelets.
Prices for the diamond LadyFope timepieces in 18ct white or rose gold are from £20,135 to £29,850.
