Vacheron Constantin combines haute horologerie and couture in Égérie ladies collection

Full spectrum family has 35mm and 37mm models made in pink gold, white gold or steel cases; with or without diamond setting.

Vacheron Constantin has filled the vacuum of news created by SIHH moving to the end of April by unveiling Égérie, a completely new family of watches for women.

The collection is described as a fusion between haute horlogerie and haute couture, where tradition, craftsmanship, art and precision engineering come together.

Haute Couture is seen in the treatment of the dial, which has a pleated effect designed to look like the precise lines of expertly folded fabric.

This a full spectrum family of watches, with 35mm and 37mm models made in pink gold, white gold or steel cases; with or without diamond setting.

Each watch has a design and complication feature drawing the eye to around 2 o’clock on the dial.

Vacheron has come up with its own interchangeable strap system so one watch can be worn in many ways.

“Égérie is a feminine name for a watch inspired by women, from the famous nymph Egeria recurrently featured in Roman mythology to the contemporary muses who inspire artists, designers and other creative talents,” Vacheron Constantin describes.

“Infused with an exquisitely feminine sensibility, the new Vacheron Constantin collection draws its refinement from the world of Haute Couture. A dial featuring a pleated pattern. A diamond ‘halo’ resembling slender braiding and accentuating the feminine shape of the case. And above all, sophistication in each and every detail, expressed through pleasingly harmonious geometry punctuated by 18-carat gold Arabic numerals, daintily scalloped like lace,” the brand continues.

Inside is a manufacture 1088 self-winding movement with a 22ct gold oscillating weight or the 1088 L for models with a moonphase complication.

First watches from the collection will be available in all Vacheron Constantin boutiques and authorised points of sale from March 1st 2020.
