This rather large 47mm sterling silver pilot’s watch went under the hammer last month at Watches of Knightsbridge in London.
The Longines Weems timepiece is a hefty creation due to its use of solid silver and boasts hallmarks dating back to 1933.
It has a Longines signed 15-jewel movement and has been fitted with blued hands. It also still has its original onion-shaped crown.
The watch was among the bestsellers in the March auction, with one lucky bidder taking it home for a cool £6,080.
