By Sarah Louise Jordan

Companies looking to put their goods on an international stage willget a wealth of advice as UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) host a masterclass entitled IP and Licensing for International Trade on September 30, to help expand export activities and trade on a global scale.

The workshop has been designed to help product-based companies utilise the strength of their own intellectual property overseas, while protecting them from theft and infringement. The event will also set time aside for one-to-one meetings to give companies the chance to discuss their own IP and licensing challenges with experts in the field.

Topics on the agenda include; how to protect your IP; how to licence your IP internationally; how to avoid infringement; real life business case studies and how to access government support.

Speakers at the workshop will include international trade advisor Bob Hawkins, innovation directorate at the Intellectual Property Office, Andrew Reith and information expert at The British Library, Maria Lampert.

To be eligible for a place on the course, companies must be a small or medium sized enterprise (SME) based within the South East or one of London’s 33 boroughs and must have been trading for a minimum of 12 months. You must have fewer than 250 employees, with a turnover of less than £40m and looking into increasing your overseas market access. Spots are limited to two delgates from each company.

The event will take place at The British Library, 96 Euston Road, London, NW1 2DB, on Tuesday September 30 and costs £120 including VAT. To sign up to the event please follow this link.
