UK-based designer creates extreme watch brand

UK-based designer Jacques Fournier has created and launched his own watch brand inspired by his love of extreme sports.

Fournier was born in Switzerland and worked as a designer for several Swiss and international watch brands before striking out on his own in December 2010. Exactly two years later, he has unveiled the first collection of watches from Wryst, the name he gave to the company.

That first collection, dubbed Airborne, is designed for extreme athletes wanting “aggressive looking watches designed to withstand the toughest conditions,” Fournier says.

The watches will initially sell via the Wryst Timepieces web site with prices ranging from £415 for the Wryst Airborne FW6 up to £475 for the limited edition Airborne FW3, FW4 and FW5.

A second collection will launch in spring, and will sell via a network of retailers.

Wryst Airborne watches have toughened 45mm faces and 22mm wide brightly coloured silicon bracelets. All watches are water resistance up to 100 meters.
