U-Boat turns to titanium and carbon in its limited edition Chimera

U-Boat’s new Chimera 46 uses extremely strong and light carbon and titanium in a limited edition creation of 888 pieces.

The watch has a bezel in forged carbon fibre, which has a random structure, giving each of them a unique look and feel.

As U-Boat explains, carbon fibres are distributed in a random manner in the mould. When the material is compressed under heating, it evolves in an unpredictable way so no two watches are the same.

The dial consists of three superimposed discs with the last layer made of a laser cut fine wire mesh in stainless steel which allows the movement to be half-seen.

On the side of the case a left hand crown and its crown guard, along with a patented sculpted pusher that can be depressed to eject the inner-crown from its recessed position adjust the date and time.
