Tour De France UK win boosts Festina sales

British cyclist Bradley Wiggins’ win at the Tour de France has generated interest in the UK for the competition’s sponsor partner, Spanish watch brand Festina, which is distributed in the UK by Unique Jewelry.

Daniel Ozel of Unique Jewelry says that Festina has received encouraging feedback, search returns and interest through its Tour de France sponsorship.

He added: “We have had fantastic feedback for Festina, both from consumers and retailers. We couldn’t wish for a better result at this year’s Tour De France with the British cyclist Bradley Wiggins winning. There was a lot of media interest in this year’s tour and for most TV channels it was a top story. And Festina was very visible on the TV and in the media.”

Festina’s head office in Spain reported an increase in the number of click-throughs from Britain to its website during the Tour De France.

Ozel said: “Our retailers were selling in particular the Chrono Bike collection, the official Tour De France model, extremely well and we got a lot of reorders. Further we had a lot of interest from retailers who want to take the brand on.”

Festina will be the official timekeeper of the Tour of Britain in September.
