Tissot extends power life of watches to 80 hours

Tissot has created a movement that will keep time for 80 hours before needing to be rewound.

The Swatch-owned brand, working with the conglomerate’s movement maker ETA, created the Powermatic 80 automatic movement.

The movement will be introduced in the Tissot Luxury Automatic collection.

“Tissot’s recipe for success is to ally its watch making expertise and traditions to the benefits of innovative materials, which has proven itself time and time again. This movement was no exception to that approach and as a result, the automatic Powermatic 80 not only demonstrates ultimate precision but also has 80 hours of power reserve. Additionally, staying true to Tissot’s philosophy of offering luxury products at an affordable price, you will be awestruck by the price of such a revolutionary component,” the company said.
