Timex secures license to make and distribute Furla watches

Furla watches have been made in partnership with Italy’s Morellato Group since 2016, but the partnership has not been renewed.

Italian fashion house Furla has signed a licensing agreement with Timex Group for the production and worldwide distribution of its watches.

Furla watches have been made in partnership with Italy’s Morellato Group since 2016, but the partnership has not been renewed.

“The synergy between Furla and Timex Group is evident through shared values, which include excellence in design and quality,” says Alberto Camerlengo, CEO of Furla Group.

“Timex Group is a company that fully understands and respects Furla’s aesthetics, its tradition and its ambition to be innovative and we believe will contribute to Furla’s growth and success within the watch category.”

Timex Group certainly has better penetration of key markets such as the United States, and says it aims to sell Furla watches into watch retailers, jewelers, department stores, travel retail and e-commerce sites.

Timepieces will also be sold through all Furla mono-brand boutiques world-wide.

The first watches are expected to go on sale in May this year.

“We are delighted to bring Timex Group’s expertise, global reach and long history as an authentic watchmaker to this new partnership with Furla. The Furla brand is a perfect fit within Timex Group, and we are excited to harness its rich heritage and brand vision through premium timepieces,” says Tobias Reiss-Schmidt, CEO of Timex Group.
