Ted Baker stockists hit 50 as Seiko plots for more

Seiko UK said it has enjoyed a positive reaction from retailers to new signing Ted Baker watches.

The group has had the licensed fashion brand in its stable for the past year.

Seiko UK sales and marketing director David Harnby said Ted Baker is now stocked in about 50 retailers and he believes there is further growth potential for the brand.

Harnby said: "We have been realigning what we do with the brands, getting the right look. Ted Baker has been getting a lot of accolades as a brand and it works really well in the UK. It’s really promising."

Fashion house Ted Baker works very closely with the team on the creation of the licensed watches, according to Harnby, something that has proven to be beneficial in creating a watch line that is a true reflection of its parent brand.

Harnby said that new collections released under the Ted Baker brand are selling well and Seiko UK has just created new display material that it is installing in stores now.

Seiko UK has signed a number of other new brands over the past year, including Kenneth Cole and Moschino. It has also bid farewell to popular watch brand D&G.

Dolce & Gabanna made the decision to drop its D&G label in 2011, which includes its licensed watches, to focus on a single label. D&G watches are still selling in the UK but the timepieces are old stock selling through as the brand has not created any new lines since October 2011.

Seiko UK will still offer servicing for D&G watches.
