A total of 17 brands are taking part in the event, which runs until Saturday 29 August, and will be exhibiting to press and clients in boutiques and hotels across downtown Geneva on a by-appointment-only basis.
“The postponement will allow not only to be safer, but eventually to have a bigger and more international event," says Jean-Christophe Babin, CEO of Bulgari and the driving force behind Geneva Watch Days.
Events will run 10am-9pm every day, and will include WatchApero, a meeting for watch aficionados held by journalist Joel Grandjean on the opening night.
Jean-Christophe Babin, CEO of Bulgari, and Jean-Claude Biver, non-executive chairman of LVMH Watch Division, are determined to lift the gloom.
A handful of brands will show 2020 collections at a coordinated group of events at the end of April.
