TAG Heuer has made an azure blue, titanium, version of its Carrera Heuer 02T, a sporty chronograph with a somewhat playful tourbillon beating at 6 o’clock on the dial.
The limited edition of 250 pieces has also been upgraded with a titanium case and bracelet and is on sale now for £17,400.
Some will consider a tourbillon an indulgence on a sporty chronograph, but it demonstrates the ambition of TAG Heuer to be considered among Switzerland’s more advanced manufactures.
Cramming a self-winding chronograph with its sub dials and the flying tourbillon into a single watch is an engineering and design challenge.
The Heuer 02T movement, first seen in 2016, measures just 31mm across but is housed in a 45mm case so that the dial has room for the complications to breath.
Its sunray dial is circled by a blue ceramic tachymetre bezel.
