The watchmaker has been the Official Timekeeper since 2016.

2021 will combine a virtual marathon, where runners can cover the 26.2 miles from anywhere in the country, with the tens of thousands of amateur and professional athletes attempting the iconic central London course.

“We are delighted to continue our partnership with the London Marathon, an iconic race in which elite athletes and amateurs alike can push themselves in the ultimate endurance test. The London Marathon embodies the spirit of TAG Heuer and we are thrilled to support, and keep runners connected, as the race returns to its traditional format around London’s historic landmarks,” says Rob Diver, TAG Heuer managing director, UK & Ireland.

TAG Heuer has also announced new features for its Connected smartwatch app focused on running including a dedicated heart rate screen showing heart rate zones and percentage of maximum heart rate.

The five zones levels go from warm-up (zone 1) to peak (zone 5) and runners can use these levels to modulate the intensity of their training depending on their personal cardiovascular fitness goals.
