TAG Heuer revived its 1960s Heuer Autavia model as a special edition in 2017 after enthusiasts were asked to name the one watch they would like to see reissued.
This year the racy Autavia is back as a full stand-alone family, joining the ranks of the Carrera, Monaco, Formula 1, Aquaracer and Link collections.
There are seven new models including stainless-steel Autavia 42mm three-hand models that adopt the rounded first-generation Autavia case and bevelled lugs from the 1960s with a black or blue bidirectional ceramic bezel. They have extra large pilot watch-style crowns — handy if the watch is worn by somebody in full racing kit and gloves, and has an easy to read dial in black, grey or blue.
It comes with easily interchangeable leather or NATO straps or a steel bracelet.
Inside the three-handers are chronometer-certified Calibre 5 movements with carbon-composite hairsprings created by TAG Heuer boffins.
Prices range from £2850 on a leather strap to £3200 on a steel bracelet.
In addition to the mainstream steel models, TAG has also created two versions in bronze with smoked green or brown dials, expected to sell for £3500.
