TAG Heuer has released a limited edition Formula 1 watch ahead of this month’s Indianapolis 500.
Practice and qualifying begin this week with the race roaring to life on August 23.
TAG Heuer, which has been Official Timekeeper of the NTT Indycar Series since 2004, has designed the 43mm Formula 1 Indy 500 2020 Special Edition chronograph with a textured black dial and red accents including a brick motif on the dial representing the Indy racetrack’s “The Brickyard” nickname and history.
The Indy 500 logo is displayed on the 6 o’clock subdial with “Indy 500” engraved in red on the ceramic bezel.
A quartz movement ensures the accuracy required in performance racing and a black rubber strap has been made to fit over a racing suit.
Only 1,500 of the watches are being made and are on sale now for £1,750.
Looks fantastic. Very creative people behind the dial’s design and very apt. Love the brickwork representation. A little disappointed that it has quartz movement. I would have loved to see one with a mechanical movement.
