Struthers for Morgan reveals Aero 8 in Geneva

Struthers London are at the Geneva Motor Show to unveil their latest watch collaboration with Morgan Motor Company, the Aero 8.

The 18ct white gold Aero 8 is limited to just eight pieces and will be shown alongside the new Morgan Aero 8 car which it has been designed to complement.

Craig Struthers, managing director and master watchmaker, said: “We’re used to designing bespoke timepieces for our clients, so tailoring a bespoke watch for a car was a fantastic experience. The form of the Aero 8 is stunning, so the project has been a watch designer’s dream.”

The new Struthers Morgan collaboration runs deeper than shared branding or obvious automotive tagging, instead relying on the curves and lines of the new Aero 8 to draw a more physical energy between watch and car.

Rebecca Struthers, director and antiquarian horologist, added: “We are fortunate enough to have a fantastic working relationship with Morgan Motor Company and their Head of Design Jon Wells, who is an incredibly inspiring designer to work alongside. It is this relationship, alongside the synergies we have with Morgan’s traditional approach to manufacture and their passion for supporting fellow British independent designer makers, which is allowing us to really start pushing the boundaries of watch/car design”.

Each watch is hand-built to order using a combination of state of the art technology and century’s old watch and casemaking techniques. The Struthers will be continuing to remaster vintage Omega base calibres for the Morgan collaboration, with customisations now including wandering seconds alongside the existing running improvements.

The strictly limited run of 8 pieces will be available alongside the current Field and Officer’s trench models and is priced at £22,500.
