Henry graves

Sothebys mini doc about family of watch fanatics

Sotheby’s has created a video documenting the history of Patek Philippe collectors Henry Graves Jnr and his grandson Reginald H Fullerton as the New York auction house prepares to sell their watch collections this weekend.

The video is led by Sotheby’s International Watch Division chair Daryn Schnipper who tells the tale of Graves and his quest to own the most complicated Patek Philippe ever owned, the Supercomplication, as well as the subsequent passion for the brand he inspired in his grandson.

Both Graves and Fullerton are now deceased and Sotheby’s will sell the pair’s watch collections on June 14. The lots will include 13 Patek Philippe watches that belonged to Graves as well as Fullerton’s 40-strong watch collection that includes timepieces by Breguet, Jaeger-LeCoultre and Rolex as well as Patek Philippe.

You can watch Schnipper talking about this watch-loving family in the video below.
