SNEAK PEEK: Hamilton takes flight to Basel with 2017 Khaki X-Wind

Hamilton’s Khaki Aviation line is renowned for providing classic aviator styling and functions specific to pilots’ needs.

The brand can chart its aviation history back to the very first flight made between New York and Washington by the US postal service, when a pilot was wearing a Hamilton timepiece.

2017 sees the introduction of the Khaki X-Wind Auto Chrono, a 45mm steel with black PVD watch on a black leather strap or steel bracelet.

The watch houses what really sets the X-Wind apart, one of the world’s first drift angle calculators in a watch, which helps pilots to accurately calculate and record the crosswinds they will encounter on their journey.

The watch may be built on a century of heritage, but it includes a modern, edgy automatic Day Date version in the collection where large roman numerals with Super-LumiNova and pilot hands sit on the sporty dial, complemented with the day date window at 9 o’clock.

It is driven by an H-30 automatic movement with 80-hour power reserve.

Retail price is expected to be around £1,720.
