Montblanc CEO Nicolas Baretzki says his company is taking the smartwatch market very seriously. In an interview in November with Luxury Society, he said that the launch of Summit is a landmark moment because it connects Montblanc — digitally and commercially — to a younger demographic.
The £800 Summit is a serious player in the smartwatch space thanks to its combination of Swiss watchmaking codes with the latest digital connectivity and functionality.
The design is familiar to fans of the classic Montblanc 1858 collection and is well proportioned in its PVD-coated steel 46mm case that is only 12.5mm thick.
The case, bezel and crown all have the same combination of satin and polished finish.
The sapphire crystal AMOLED touchscreen with 400x400px resolution is the window into all the Android Wear 2.0 applications including a nice suite of travel-friendly apps such as voice translation, navigation and boarding pass, order a ride and setting a world timer.
Other pre-loaded apps include Runtastic, Uber and Foursquare alongside the usual.
