Skeleton chronographs to wow at Antiquorum HK sale

Antiquorum is set to host its first auction of the year in Hong Kong this month, with a selection of rare timepieces incuding Patek Philippe watches and skeletonised chronographs.

The sale of modern and vintage timepieces will take place on January 26 at the Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong, with previews taking place at Antiquorum’s showrooms in Shanghai and Hong Kong.

A platinum Patek Philippe Ref. 5074 minute repeater perpetual calendar from 2012 and a Patek Philippe Ref. 3939 tourbillon minute repeater wristwatch with an enamelled dial are set to be the leading timepieces in the auction.

The Ref. 5074 was launched in 2002 in yellow gold only, available with silver or a black dial. Patek Philippe then launched a pink gold version at BaselWorld in 2005 and the platinum version at Basel 2009.

The Patek Philippe Ref. 3939 Tourbillon Minute Repeater Enamel Dial is an 18ct pink gold timepiece, also dating from 2010. It will be sold with its original card travel case, additional case back, hang tag, service box, COSC certificate and Certificate of Origin within a leather folio.

Antiquorum’s experts have also collected a series of fine skeletonised timepieces for the sale including the Antonie Preziuso The Art of Tourbillon timepiece, No. 1/10, an 18ct pink gold skeletonised wristwatch featuring a one-minute tourbillon regulator, 110 hour power reserve and an 18ct pink gold Antonie Preziuso buckle. It is accompanied by a fitted collection box and certificate.

A platinum skeletonised Vacheron Constantin pocket watch, No. 57100/1 will also be part of the sale, as will a rare Patek Philippe Ref. 918 18ct yellow gold ellipse-shaped skeletonised keyless dress watch set with a 109 diamonds totalling 0.60ct, with an 18ct yellow gold Patek Philippe long chain and cord fob. The watch is further accompanied by the original fitted box, the Certificate of Origin, Extract from the Archives and registered guarantee card and papers.
