Six decade history of Accutron described in a book by Hodinkee’s Jack Forster

It is launching as a standalone book and also in a box set, priced at £3,390, that combines the book with a limited edition Accutron Spaceview 2020 timepiece.

Accutron was relaunched as a sub-brand of Bulova by its parent organisation, Citizen Watch Company, this summer, and the story of the watch’s history is being described in all its glory in a new book, Accutron: From the Space Age to the Digital Age, written by Hodinkee editor in chief Jack Forster.

It was six decades in between the launch of the original Accutron and this year’s re-issue; a span that started with the space race of the 1960s and continues into the current era where everything is digital.

Six in-depth chapters highlight the creation and design of Accutron, its position as one of the most important innovations in watchmaking history, its participation in the first great age of space exploration and its work on various projects with the U.S. military.
