SIHH 2017 PREVIEW: Vacheron Constantin updates the Patrimony and Traditionelle

WatchPro has been given a sneak peak at two Vacheron Constantin timepieces ahead of January’s SIHH, a Patrimony Moon Phase and Retrograde Date, and a Traditionnelle Minute Repeater Tourbillon.

It looks like moon phases are going to be a big trend for 2017, and Vacheron has created a new self-winding calibre, the 2460 R31L, as the brains behind this complication and its retrograde date that appears as an arc of odd numbers on its new Patrimony, running almost from 9 o’clock to 3 o’clock within the 42.5 mm white or rose 18ct gold case.

The same silvered opaline dial with 18ct gold moon disk is used for both the white gold and rose gold editions.

The Traditionnelle Minute Repeater Tourbillon (pictured top) also has a new Vacheron Constantin manufactured calibre.

The 2755 TMR drives two horological complications: the minute repeater and the tourbillon.

The minute repeater, if triggered with a press on a single pusher, will chime the hours, quarters and minutes.

The watch is beautiful as well as complex, with hand-guillochéd dials in slate grey or silver-toned variations on platinum models; or in a silver toned for the rose gold version.

Both the platinum and gold models have 44mm cases. The power reserve indicator, good for up to 58 hours, is visible through the sapphire crystal case back.
