Signet Group has appointed a UK managing director from outside of the jewellery trade.
The jewellery giant has appointed Jessops chief executive, Neil Old, to lead its UK division, which encompasses H Samuel and Ernest Jones.
According to Retail Week, Mr Old will report directly to Signet Group’s chief executive, Virginia Drosos.
Before joining Signet, Mr Old worked at British photographic retailer Jessops, as chief executive officer for seven years.
Prior to Jessops, which is owned by Dragons’ Den star Peter Jones, he held senior management roles at Dixons Carphone and Kingfisher.
Old takes over from Emma Hayward as UK managing director.
Signet today released its Q2 2019 results, which revealed a drop in same-store sales.
