Shinola to launch website sales for UK customers

Shinola has made its long-awaited first move into the UK watch market, announcing the launch of its European e-commerce website in July.

The Detroit brand, known for its handcrafted watches, bicycles, journals, leather goods and shoe polish, has developed the platform to allow for European sales in the face of international demand for its products.

Two exclusive models of Shinola’s Runwell collection will be available through the website to celebrate the launch. The Runwell Red 41mm and Runwell Blue 41mm are priced at £495 and £540 respectively.

Shinola’s watches retail for between £495 and 1,125 with leather goods from £70 and journals priced from £11. The brand’s bicycles are available from £1,650.

A Shinola spokesman told WatchPro.com that an ecommerce website would be the brand’s first step to servicing UK customers at Basel earlier this year. The spokesman continued that the web platform would be followed by own brand stores in Europe, with potential sites in London already being investigated. It was made clear that Shinola would not be working with retailers until the own brand store was open.
