Shinola squares up with rectangular quartz Omaha family

The stainless steel family uses Argonite 1069 quartz movements and are assembled in Detroit with a smooth caseback that can be engraved and sapphire crystal protecting the enamel dials.

Shinola has introduced a rectangular style called Omaha to its growing watch line up.

The watch is a nod to the Omaha-class cruisers in the US Navy, Shinola says, without elaborating. “The Omaha is our salute to the ever-evolving military influence in fashion,” the watchmaker adds.

The $650 stainless steel family, which has not yet reached the UK, uses Argonite 1069 quartz movements and are assembled in Detroit with a smooth caseback that can be engraved and sapphire crystal protecting the enamel dials.

They come in a wooden gift box with one Nato and two spare leather straps that can be switched without tools.

Their 26mm x 36.5mm elongated faces have hours, minutes and a small seconds subdial.
