American manufacturer Shinola is working towards a UK retail presence this year and has announced each of its watches will now come with a lifetime guarantee.
The handmade specialist, that makes bicycles, leather goods and notebooks as well as watches, showcased its new collection at BaselWorld 2014 and announced its watches would be available to UK customers through its website from June this year.
The company, which currently has three own brand stores in the US, intends to open stores in Europe. Potential London retail sites are currently being investigated and the company has stated that it has no plans to work with other retailers until its London location opens.
The brand, which has sought to reinvigorate manufacturing in the US, also introduced a limited lifetime guarantee on its watches covering free of charge repairs on defects on all components except battery, leather strap or buckle. The guarantee states that in the case of the exact model not being available a watch of equal value and similar style will be provided.
