SevenFriday supports UK autism charity with watch

SevenFriday has backed an autism charity with 100 percent of the proceeds from a new special edition watch.

All funds raised from the sale of 100 of the watches, except the VAT, will go directly to Prior’s Court, a specialist autism charity supporting young people severely affected by their autism.

Daniel Niederer, founder of SEVENFRIDAY, said: “We closely work with our distribution partners and friends all around the world to identify the right organisations or projects to support. In the US, we started to help a foundation related to autism. So when our local partner for the UK, Mark Sutcliffe, brought Prior’s Court to our attention, we decided to follow that path there too.”

Just 100 of the watches, based around SevenFriday’s P3 model, will be made using bright blue highlights taken from the Prior’s Court logo in place of the model’s more familiar red tones.

Funds raised will go towards outdoor and wet weather play equipment as physical exercise and outdoor play activities are at the centre of the charity’s work.

Each year Prior’s Court must raise £500,000 to purchase vital equipment like this and provide trips and activities for the young people to help them lead more socially inclusive lives. On talking about the partnership Lucinda Stubbs, Head of Fundraising said “We would like to extend our thanks and appreciation SevenFriday for selecting Prior’s Court as their charity partner. We are simply delighted to be embarking upon this exciting project and the watches are an eye-catching and unique design, we are sure they will sell exceptionally well”.

Mark Sutcliffe’s Daughter, Jenny, has attended Prior’s Court School for 14 years, since the age of seven. He said: “In this time Jenny has made tremendous progress from an anxious, disturbed little girl unable to understand or communicate with the world, to a confident happy young adult, enjoying her first work placement at the Hilton Hotel. A main outlet for these children and young adults is to let off energy and frustration is outdoor play, I am absolutely delighted to be giving something back to the school where Jenny has been so happy, by providing this.”

The SevenFriday Prior’s Court watch will be available from Prior’s Court School, MDS Consulting and SevenFriday retailers in the UK.
