If you were trying to tell the story of the Art Deco movement in a wristwatch, you would do well to come up with a representation as expressive as the SEVENFRIDAY T2/04.
Early 20th century Manhattan architectural design is squeezed into every element including the artistic geometric shapes of the hour and minute hands and latticework partially obscured behind a translucent dial.
That dial is circled by a bezel in brushed galvanic gold carrying typical numerals of the period, whilst the outer plate in hard sandblasted gun metal is stamped in all corners with recognizable Roaring Twenties’ shapes.
Its 45mm sandblasted gunmetal PVD steel case offers a more somber tone, a reminder that there was a harsher underbelly to the frivolity of aristocrats financing the Art Deco movement.
The watch is powered by a Seiko-made NH70 automatic movement.
It is selling for $975.
