First Grand Seiko picked up a Red Dot Design Award for its Hi-Beat White Birch.
Now its sibling, Seiko, has bagged its own gong for the Prospex 1968 Diver’s Modern Re-interpretation.
The Red Dot Design Award evaluates each product criteria including degree of innovation, functionality, durability and symbolic and emotional content. This year, over 7,900 products were submitted from 60 countries worldwide.
Seiko’s winning watch is inspired by the 1968 Diver’s 300m watch, but upgraded and updated with an 8L35 mechanical calibre housed in the company’s Ever-Brilliant Steel, which is extensively used for marine structures and vessels because of its extreme corrosion resistance in sea water.
The watch is available in the UK for £4,100.
