Seiko offers latest Prospex dive watches on straps made the same way as Kinomo cords

They are said to be nearly four times stronger than regular Seiko fabric straps.

Seiko has unveiled two Prospex watches that are modern re-interpretations of landmark dive watches from 1965 and 1970.

The are sold on special fabric straps designed and manufactured expressly for use by divers.

The straps are made using a traditional braiding technique from Japan called Seichu, which is also used for decorative cords that holds a Kimono sash in its place.

They are said to be nearly four times stronger than regular Seiko fabric straps.

Braiding also makes them breathable and more comfortable to wear.
