Seiko adds chronograph to limited edition Astron

Seiko has created a limited edition Astron GPS Solar watch inspired by its brand ambassador, the world number one tennis legend Novak Djokovic.

The tennis ace is playing at the Wimbledon warm up Boodles tournament this week, and was presented with the newly released Astron, which has had a chronograph function added and carries Djokovic’s signature on the case back.

It is to be offered to the public as a limited edition of 2,500 pieces in the Autumn.

Seiko describes the Astron GPS Solar as the perfect timepiece for Djokovic. “Novak has a hectic travel schedule. We estimate that, to fulfil his tennis commitments alone, Novak travels so much that he would have to adjust the time zone on his watch no fewer than 60 times this year. With Seiko Astron on his wrist, however, he does not have to worry once. Just a touch of a button and Novak’s Astron adjusts to the local time, no matter where he is in the world,” the company explains.
